Mine were like Combats. I just got a fix it ticket and had to go back to stock dammit. I would not go that dark if I had to do it again. BTW, I knew I was screwed when the cop had a college ride-along. He had to set an 'example' and give me a ticket.

well im not going to totally black them out just a nice semi dark smoke look. but the only problem is that the VHT niteshade is flat black when it cures. now can i just buy some clear coat spray and spray them so the will have a nice shine to them?

Not a fan. Love the stock tail lights AP1 or AP2. Plus you'll be likely to get a ticket for it and then will be a pain to bring it back to stock. Just get one that can be removed. Make covers. Same look but can be easily removed.

the sprayed/tinted tails look fine but i'd say only on a black s2000 'cause there is too much contrast on a lighter car...

I wouldnt mind a lightly smoked tail light. "lightly" which is pretty hard to do.

yea well in "MY OPINION" the tint sticker shiat is not really my cup of tea cause you can make it the shade you want theres smoked or blacked out. i want the ability to make it the shade that i want and that is what the tint spray offers. you can do a couple of light coats for a smoke look or a couple more for a smoked/blacked out semi look or straight black. plus like CROFTONCUSTOMS said washing his car messes with his tint stickers. so thats why i wanna use the tint spray and not the stickers

i have a friend who uses black pantyhose. dead serious. it looks fine and if they fade or rip they are super cheap to replace. he just pulled the taillight out, stretched the pantyhose around it, cut little holes for plugs and reinstalled.

maybe try this before painting to see if you like it.
