Default Taking off Rick's S badges

As title states, im looking to purchase black chrome CR badges. My only concern is that there will be a lot of residue from the Rick's badges. Anyone have experience taking these off? Will rubbing alcohol do the job?

Also, if anyone has CR badges for sale, please PM me! Thanks.

Mike

i would avoid rubbing alcahol since it will strip the clearcoat if rubbed hard for an excessive amount of time.

there's clear coat safe adhesive remover sold at kragens.

Goo gone usually works really well with adhesive removing. Can get at your local walmart. I think it's also safe for paint.

This 3M adhesive remover (in liquid or aerosol form) is safe for automotive paint:

You can find it at some auto supply stores, or amazon sells it:

To the OP.........

The CR badges are not black chrome... Those were an option to purchase and then upgrade from the stock chrome ones. The new badges that come on the CR's are flat black

The easiest way to take off the old ones is dental floss behind the emblem to cut the glue holding it. Once you take it off you will have the residue left on your fenders and goo gone will not take it off!

Try this! I used it when I took mine off and did the same with the CR ones. It just attaches to a drill and off you go! Just use light pressure and see it strip that right off.

3m Strip Off Wheel

Completely safe!

PM me if you need more info

zippo lighter fluid is the best stuff to remove adhesive. just soak a corner of a rag with it and use a gentle circular motion, the stuff will just melt and slide off.

just be sure to wash and wax the area when you're done to protect it.
