Well guys.. I got around to doing it around 8:30 (we had some Tornado warnings for a little while.. haha), and it only took me about 40min for doing both the front and rear... While I had it up on the good 'ol stilts, I decided to loosen up the top hats from the strut towers and re-torqued those down as well while preloading the strut/arm..

After doing this quick little job, I dropped her back down on the ground..

Now, keep in mind, prior to putting my car in the air this evening, I had a 3 finger gap on both fronts, and a 2 finger gap on both rears.. After successfully preloading and re-torquing everything down to spec, I got it back down on the ground and had a snug 1.8 or so, finger gap on all four corners.. almost exact on all 4 corners..

I went for a quick drive around the neighborhood (keep in mind, its storming like a mo-fo), but I could definitely feel a noticeable difference in the handling characteristics... less roll, more squat going around long sweeping corners.. it also seemed that quick reflex inputs and quick lane changes, the car seemed definitely more responsive and nimble... Now keep in mind, this is on 15% tires and in the rain. lol

HUGE difference.. unfortunately I don't have any before pics (without preloading), but I will put up a quick couple 'o pics I just took not too long ago after my short drive..

And just so ya'll know, those are prototype Hella 3100k 35W D2C Xenon bulbs in my low beams I'm in the process of developing an aftermarket program for our Xenon capsules and ballasts... Shhhh
Don't worry, more pics to come of those... and trust me, they are NOTHING like any other 'yellow' xenon bulb on the market.

Thanks again you guys!!!!!

have a quick question on this...I had the same problem too only on ap1. Front higher than rear. Now when you said you loosened the top hat bolts do you mean you only loosened the 3 bolts in engine compartment or did you loosen all other bolts too? (upper arm specifically)

For the front suspension, I loosened up the bottom bolt on the strut, the two upper A-arm bolts that hold the A-arm to the chassis, and I also loosed the two top-hat bolts on the top of the shock tower inside of your engine bay (the two you would use to hold down a strut bar)...

Tylor,

About the yellow bulbs, as you know I'm sure. I received a ticket in PTC for having "yellow beams". I had to fight in it court, took me three trials to get everything settled.

Steve, thanks though..

It's not a worry, as you know I specialize in this field Steve, and understand the legalities of motor vehicle lighting. I already have documentation from Hella and myself stating that the lighting is considered as a prototype with an implied permit.

Not to worry my friend

Thanks though!!!!

So, how much was the ticket??????

According to my 1129page 2008 SAE Ground Vehicle Lighting Standards Manual, under J578, Yellow (amber) main (driving) beam lights, should fall within the boundaries of:

Y= 0.390 (red boundary)
Y= 0.790 -0.670x (white boundary)
Y= x-0.120 (green boundary)

This all refers to the chromaticity using the Tristimulus and Spectrophotometric Methods... These bulbs meet both!

Either way, its still safe to have that permit riding in my center console, just incase a po-po wants to act a fool!!!!

btw, these bulbs are prototypes, so they do not have a "DOT approved" marking anywhere on the base, therefore they are CONSIDERED illegal, but they technically are legal... just until they pass further testing by the manufacturer, then they will go into production for us, and will then carry the "DOT" insignia

Can't wait!!!!!!

Thanks man!
