Tein SRC damper adjustment
I know this topic has been discussed before but I couldn't really grasp it.
According to Tein manual damper must be set to the hardest (fully clockwise) the adjust accordingly from there. Is it the same for compression as well as if I'm looking from the top then it should be the other way around. Anyone can help?
Another thing is I was experimenting compression and rebound setting for street, started off with 8/8 all around then reduce the front compression by 2 as well as the rear then tried reducing extra 2 for the rear rebound but the setting ended up worse than stock setting as in car is more bouncy over nig bumps. Did I do anything wrong there?
I need a bit of advice here, FYI I'm using tein USA recommended height and preload setting but I have JDM Tein SRC with optional 18 kg/mm spring rate.
Please chime in if you can help
Thanks in advance
Erik

Clockwise from the top of the rod or canister = hardest or closed. This means that all of the adjusters turn to the right (to the hardest setting) regardless of position, up, down, & sideways.
Try taking an empty water bottle and tighten the cap in various positions....no matter what you always tighten the cap to the right. Same with the rebound and compression adjustments on the SRCs.
Your spring rates and valving for that matter is different than the SRC that are sold for the states so no one here is going to be able to help you tune them, your on your own in that aspect. Just keep notes and on the way the damper feels as you adjust it.
The reason its so bumpy is because the spring rates are high and the valving is not adequately damping the rebound and or compression. You'll have to experiment with them to find the best solution to control the high spring rates without closing up the damping too much. Closing up the rebound will cause the damper to pack down and closing up the bump too much will make so that the springs do not absorb the bumps in the road.

I think the valving would be similar to US spec SRC with harder spring rate.
I am also not expecting the ride to be smooth and comfy but I have been driving around, it seems like the car is harder as I drive it more.
Any recommended street setting for this coils?
