Smile Testpipe/HFC

Okay... I just wanted to know how many of you guys out there that are running a Testpipe/HFC and you have a CEL? You did everything possible in the books to get rid of it and it still pops up.

1. Do you still keep the Testpipe/HFC and don't mind the CEL?
2. Get rid of it and go back to stock cat for assurance?

I'm very anal and it bothers me when I see the CEL. I have tried everything in the book to try and get rid of it but it won't. I guess my 06+ s2k is one of those that doesn't like it and are very finicky to aftermarket tp's. I have tried both testpipe/HFC up to four anti-foulers and still same result. I guess I have to go back to OEM cat.

I think it consumes more gaz when CEL for O2 sensor is on. I read some claiming the ECU will be in safe status, hence less power, and probably right because it consumes more gaz which means the engine is richer...

There are small electric circuits that you connects to the cable of the sensor to fool the ECU and give the right signal... it's very cheap, but never used it I have an 2004 S and it worked with one anti-fouler

did you try isolating the sensor? In vaccum let's say, a vaccum bag.. ? Try searching for the O2 sensor specifications, I think the anti-foulers works on the 00-05 because the O2 sensor is narrow band. Probably the 06+ are wideband and hence more sensitive.

Since you have 06+ I would suggest get a Flashpro from Hondata... It's very beneficial for many stuff to manipulate and for later upgrades, and you can delete the CEL for O2 sensor I guess, but that would cost you around $700...

Ever stop to think that CEL may be trying to alert you to an entirely different problem altogether? Did you have the code read?

^^ Yes, I got it pulled and it's because of the cat.

Four antifoulers? Strange. I'd take the HFC off and re-install the stock CAT and see if CEL goes away. There is an L-shaped asapter for the sensor that you could also try and you could also try the steel wool trick.
Since the steel wool solution is so easy, why not try it first?. BTW, I also have an '06 and nary a problem using Berks HFC. GL

I tried the steel wool trick already. I ran a good 500 miles then it kicked on after all the steel wool was burnt off. Yes, I tried to install the stock cat and the CEL did go away. I guess my 06+ is one of the one that doesn't like aftermarket cats.

Like I said on my first post... I tried everything in the book. Nothing works for my car. I'll just go back to stock cat. I didn't mind.

I don't know if this would have anything to do with anything but if you can , try another sensor. Maybe the sensor is over sensitive? Since you've done way more than anyone else already (and many/most of us have done nothing using an HFC), that leaves the sensor as the suspect.

Well... it can't be the sensor since I did went back to stock cat and it doesn't throw a CEL at all.

I realise this and my point was - maybe your sensor is working "too good". It is a longshot to think another sensor might solve your problem but who knows, it might.
