Not true, testpipes flow 40% better than high flow cats. Which = less resistance, ie more hp
40%? No. There were flowbench tests done in a Honda Tech thread a few years ago and they showed that the "challenger" spun-body cats were only flowing about 9% less than a test-pipe. That's not a very significant number.

But hey, if you guys love that ricey/raspy Honda sound and enjoy polluting, be my guest.

The raspy is definitely not going to be from going catless. maybe 10% if that. Now if you have a cheapo exhaust then it is much more likely but if you spend money on a quality exhaust it will not sound raspy.

A cat acts like a muffler, so by removing it you have less sound deadening. Just go listen on YouTube...most of the clips with no cat sound raspy and tinny, even with a resonator.

how about stock exhaust with resonator removed, the one closer to the cat. will that sound very raspy with a testpipe?

Probably. But why would you run a test pipe on the factory exhaust?

You end an intelligent post with a childish statement? All respect lost.

Because its a hell of a lot cheaper than a full catback and gives you more horsepower and sound for $100. That and not everyone wants loud ass aftermarket exhaust.

Exactly! I'm actually about to do this. Slightly louder (not anoying loud), sounds meaner, and more power... Just did my emissions and they hooked it up to a computer anyway didnt even run it so im VERY interested in this lol! Now whats a good place to get a test pipe (berk since everybody recommends it) with the O2 CEL fix built in?
