Because its a hell of a lot cheaper than a full catback and gives you more horsepower and sound for $100. That and not everyone wants loud ass aftermarket exhaust.

I've had 2 stints in my S2k ownership where I thought "I want an exhaust".....3 months or so with said exhaust, I've gotten sick of the noise and high profile. My TP however has been the best mod I believe I've done.

There was a point where I didnt really think it made much of a difference, but I threw my cat on for a month or 2 while registering it and smogging it, and when I put the TP back on it was eye opening

And...I really dont notice much difference in sound at all.

Exactly! I'm actually about to do this. Slightly louder (not anoying loud), sounds meaner, and more power... Just did my emissions and they hooked it up to a computer anyway didnt even run it so im VERY interested in this lol! Now whats a good place to get a test pipe (berk since everybody recommends it) with the O2 CEL fix built in?
Go for Berk. Definately the first choice in my mind and most others minds. You can probably pick up a used one in the classifieds on here for under $100

there shouldn't be much (if any) diff in noise. but you will notice a difference if you pair it up with an intake or k&n drop in. nothing more than a butt dyno, but as far as running up against a car you've already ran while you were completely stock youll notice a bit.

thats what i did while i was saving money for an intake and full exhaust.

the exhaust fumes are tasty too lol.

well i know for a fact that if you remove the resonator of the stock exhaust, it'll make the sound a bit deeper.

i've also seen people running completely stock exhaust and with a testpipe, so i was wondering if anyone had both resonator delete and testpipe together

but i dont know if your video is acurate or this one because this one sounds pretty damn nice

Stock with a test pipe sounds slight raspier and louder than stock. Its not much difference in overall noise but you can tell if you stick the stock cat back on that it made a difference.

I have an AP2 and planning on running the Berk test pipe. I won't upgrade to a aftermarket cat-back because I like the the OEM oval looking exhaust system.

I've heard some members getting CEL after this mod even though they have the tricked CEL mod. So go catless at your own risk...
