Default Throwing a project idea around

It has been about a year now since I sold my S2000, and like many others before me I am considering picking up another S2000 for a project. This project however will not be traditional in any sense. I am looking into finding a shell to create a V8 (also considering certain V6 platforms) derived 'trophy truck' application (my only real requirement for the shell would be no frame damage). Without getting into intricate detail I will foremost say that there will be no legal road application in this project. This project is more directed to be a learning project through custom fabrication and to overall just have something I can essentially beat the hell out of here in Western Pennsylvania throughout the different seasons. Anyone looking to crucify me, you need not post here. Anyone who holds interest in this idea, feel free to throw ideas or different applications to stir some thought as I project cost estimates and a time horizon.

You can buy v8 conversion kits.

If your looking for an off road build, go with a 350z

It's built on the Nissan fm platform, same as the AWD g35x and murano

Would be super easy to bolt in the AWD drivetrain and taller suspension from a murano

It would make an awesome ralley car

For off road, you need a very stout car like the 350

The s2k is just the wrong car for your application

I saw a video yesterday of an off-road 350z. That looked awesome. Only reason I would buy a 350z.

There have been a few rally S2000's over the years. The thought sounds good, but I will agree with Szoylent, 350z platform would be a better start. Initial purchase is cheaper, motor swap is not needed (save $) and more universal type parts.

A rally car need not be 4wd.

I thought the idea of swapping an RB25DET into a Hardbody nissan/datsun (80s-90s) truck would be a fun project to mess around with.
