Default Top ripped

So, my top finally ripped where they normally do on the passenger side, over the right shoulder. I've got a piece of Gorilla Tape on there right now but, is there anything that works better for a quick fix for the time being? I just don't want water seeping in if it rains.

My patch is a piece of canvas bag and goop. Holding strong for about 8 months now.

I had used another piece of an old top with automotive glue. Oit worked well for a few months but I drop my top daily. The patch eventually fell apart....

When I got rips in my top I used shoe goo. From what I read it stayed very playable and I thought it would hold up. I WAS WRONG. It go hard and now the edges are peeling and I cant tear it off cause I am afraid it might tear it more.

What I ended up using and what I recommend is Black silicone RTV and a piece of the cloth or what I used, a piece of vinyl from the fabric store. The RTV is still flexible and soft and the vinyl is holding up great.

The black RTV? You can get small bottles of it at an auto parts store as gasket sealer... I think I found mine at the dollar store actually. I know for a fact that an auto parts store will sell it in black, Home Depot will have clear and brown for sure... not sure about black though.

It takes like 24 hours to fully cure, but after that it will remain flexible forever.

i read somewhere best thing to do is to sew the rip together then take the RTV silicone and rubbing it over top of the spot you sewed.
