Default Tow Hook License Plate Mount

Hi everyone, I recently purchased this tow hook license plate mount and so far it seems really good especially for the price. Some of the reviews mentioned an issue with one of the screws provided not being long enough, but mine seemed to be fine. I put some pictures below so you guys can get an idea of how it looks. You can adjust the angle and you have some options with moving it a little towards the middle of the car. I do wish it was a little bit closer to the car and it would be great if it had something to cover the open parts of the tow hook compartment to prevent water and other things getting in there.

Not my cup of tea, but I have a problem with things looking assymetric on cars Like AP2 bumpers with a single exhaust and an open hole on the other side, ugghghh.
I think this kinda draws attention to the plate being so far off center, but that's probably just me. I bought a flip up plate to mount in the center of the bumper hole so I can hide our ridiculous big plates when I go to meets.

Looks like it may block some of the light from your passenger headlight.

Ooh interesting, is there drilling involved?

I like it. I have these on my subi and gtr because I didnt want to drill holes in the bumper. I get positive comments from my friends and coworkers My s2k had the bumper already drilled so I didnt get one for it.

Unfortunately yes. You'll have to drill at least 3 holes and probably need to adjust the grille insert if you want it on a stock bumper.
But I'm not 100% sure it would fit the stock bumper, I have an aftermarket bumper now which is a bit longer.
Or you can mount it below the front bumper like instructions say, you'll probably have to drill the plastic undertray then which might be a better solution.

It's a "show 'n go" plate holder made by Altec, there's both a manual and remote controlled version available.

It doesn't directly block the headlight itself, but you're right some of the actual light may be blocked. I don't drive at night too often, but I might take it out and try to see if it does.

Are you using the manual or the remote controlled version? The remote controlled one looked good in theory but there was a lot of bad reviews about the reliability about it. I'm thinking about the manual one but I'm wondering if it's kind of flimsy?

I'm using manual, not to keen on the remote controlled ones as I've once heard there's a law here that could get you into serious trouble if cops ever find out about it.
Doesn't feel flimsy to me. Im sure if you install it the correct way it won't break down that easy.
