Default Trunk dampers

Anyone know if there is such a thing? i need them for a carbon trunk

You can fab one out easily if you have a set of hood dampers. I would think you only need one, but it may still cause stress on the trunk while in the process of closing the trunk.

Plus you would need to make sure there is clearnce around the perimeter of the trunk to fit the damper so the trunk can actually close.

Try looking for dampers from other cars at junkyards, you might find a damper that is just right in size/pressure.

You can take the tension out of your current trunk spring bars yourself if your willing to do the work.

Remove your trunk lid,put two bricks or heavy item s on the trunk mounting rails so they are down in the trunk closed position

Put some fireproof foil up against the body and heat up the center portion of the spring bars with a propain torch while they have tension applied to them from the weight(be careful not to soften them up too much or the trunk wont open at all)

The springs will now have less tension in them but will have the paint burnt off so you can now remove them and put a new coat of black paint on
