Doesn't matter what that includes if it's for a tune and stand alone still 2-3x too much money.
See what engine management people tune with by you. AEM EMS is the best really. Costs the most as well of course. Can get the 1052 aem ems for 800-1000 used now. Tune cost depends on the place. Usually 500+ for a full tune.
If you want something simpler could go with say a greddy emanage ultimate but I would make sure you have a good reputable tuner nearby that can tune the car for you to get the most out of it.

thanks for the input!!! he reckons there is about 18hours workin in installing computer etc etc!

and he thinks you have to change alot of stuff.......
what a s**t talker!! and said all day on a dyno.... i still dont c 5k...

for 5k i expect my car to fly when i get it back!

i just dont know what computer to use...

he said it so expensive i u want the car to run like a stock car... ie warning lights and everything working like normal.... he said if u have 06model and above it would be different.....

i dont get it....

any input is appreciated!! i dont mind spending 1500aus or a bit more but not 5 k... dont c the value.... ill just bolt on a turbo for 5-6k.... or a jet engine....!

he thinks a 40rwkw increase is possible..... i dont c that either.... i think this guy is a little out of his league....

thanks again

MY06's and higher have flashable memory on the ecu. Meaning using a flashpro (or theoretically an open source program, if you wrote one) you could overwrite the maps on your ECU. This way there's no piggybacking, no modification to the ecu, just straight plug and play.

For a my02 you're looking at AEM EMS (~1200$ US, but can be found cheaper used) as your overall best solution. Although I tune with my flashpro, and have no idea what goes into installing the AEM EMS.

18 hours to install computer? They are plug and play. Just plug them right in and done. Tuning can take many hours but even if like 8 hours should cost what $1000 at the very most for sure.
Definitely find someone else. That place either has no idea what they are talking about or just trying to rip you off bad.

Since this is an Australian guy asking an Australian shop to install a Standalone; even though the prices are nuts even when considering this; I feel the need to mention this as maybe OP isn't very knowledgeable on the specifics of management bits and pieces.

They're probably quoting for Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 or a Motec M400 (Or something from Link, or Autronic... or... you get my point)... since AEM EMS is pretty much non-existent on this side of the world (don't think they fare much better in Europe either). At the very least, there would be very few with AEM EMS experience.

The Motec is something like $2900aud by itself IIRC. Should run all stock sensors though, would just need a jumper harness made to mate to the stock one.

I like race cars and have participated in builds or have overseen them .

To the OP, perhaps some of the guys at http://www.ozhonda.com/ can point you in the right direction for something like this. 5K is very steep obviously
