Default Which EMS?

I know people have been talking alot of different engine management systems out there. My question is which is the best for N/A for now which later on (whenever I get more money) to use for F/I?

There's Vafc, F-Con Vpro, Emanage Ultimate, AEM EMS, etc etc....

Any information would be a great help.

depends on your tuner. you should get something that your tuner is familiar with so he can extract the most power... but I would go with AEM EMS for FI because they are here in the US and I can get info about it realtaively easily...

Depends on how hard core you want to go, and how good of a tuner you can get in touch with. If the car is daily driven in an area that has cold winters, you will need a good tuner to get it starting and running right for winter. However a good tune will get the most of the car.

A couple people have had good luck with the emanage ultimate for dd turbo applications and are making over 400 whp. The upside is that the piggyback setup costs less and you wont need to mess with startup tuning. However this option is not as tunable, and won't get that last little bit of power.

Crome???

But anyways I just moved to AZ so the startup options I don't need to worry about too much. Right now I'm in the process of getting a J's 70mm single exhaust to replace my invidia's.
I have some headers and a drop in K&N. Once I have enough money I want to go FI possibly leaning towards SC.

I've heard some complaints from the AEM but nothing too bad....

It all really depends on what your main focus is with the car. Also it depends on your buget. As far as going with a full stand alone AEM EMS is gona be the way to go. There are other EMS systems out there like Motec ect but they costs are going to be much more and for what you want to do is not going to be needed. If you only plan on going with bolt ons then I would suggest a J's Ecu . It retains all of the cars functions and will be perfect with a Bolt on car. EMS require carefull tuning and it really depends on who tunes it as well. What are you wanting to do with the car?

Also since you included piggy back systems in your post they are not a EMS ( Standalone). You in turn are tricking the stock ecu by using a Piggyback system. If you go FI as you stated thena EMS( Fully stand alone ecu) is going to be needed. If you wana tune a exhuast and intake in, you can use a Air fuel controller at a fair cost. If you want to tune timing and fuel you can use a upgrades stock ecu map. These are tuned for your basic bolt ons. Otherwise for any FI, Itbs setup AEM Ems or better is gona be the route you need to take. I would put your normal bolts on and leave the stock ecu setup. Then upgrade to EMS when you go FI.

Ok that's great information Erl_s2000. I think I'll definately do that.

I know Shawn at Churchhill is about 5 hrs from me to tune the AEM. I don't know of any tuners for the HKS fcon-vpro but what are your thoughts on that unit compared to the AEM one?

5 hours isnt too far away. The nice thing about the AEM is thats its plug and play. Also its nice because you can still drive to your tuners as you dont have a setup that requires the car to only start on EMS. I dont know as much about the HKS stuff so I cant really comment much. I do know that AEM is a better option for tuning. My personal thoughts are I would go with a J's Ecu with a bolt on setup. If you want more power and more control of the ecu then go to the AEM EMS. Both will make you happy, its just which one you are gona really end up needing. If you have the money for AEM then do it and get shawn to tune it.
