Default Uk mod

Hey guys, I know this topic has been covered a million times but I can't find any info on 2 inch (51mm) uk mod. I've narrowed it down to 38mm, 44mm or 51mm (1.5, 1.75, and 2 inches respectively). I love the way the 38mm sounds, but I'm afraid it won't be loud enough which is why I'm considering the larger diameters. So, does anyone have any sound clips or experience with a 2+ inch uk mod?

Google youtube. Loads of them.

Something to consider. The stock pipes are about 2.5" each. So that means doing a 2.5" uk mod would be roughly akin to a muffler delete sound wise. You would basically be bypassing the muffler entirely with 2.5".

So a 'mere' 2" uk mod is still bypassing 'most' of the muffler, as its about 80% of the diameter of the stock exhaust. Of course that doesnt mean its 80% of the straight pipe sound, its way more complex than that. Just go into this knowing how much of the stock exhaust you are bypassing with a 2+" uk pipe.

I did my UK Mod with 2.5" pipes because that's all i had laying around.

Paired it with a berk 63mm test pipe and I thought it sounded great. Very aggressive at WOT, but not loud or drone-y at all with normal driving.

^ The Blue AP2 in that clip is mine when I had the UK Mod done.

Ok, so I ended up going with a 1.5 inch (38mm) I.d. pipe and it could be louder but I LOVE the tone wth my fipk and for $120 I couldn't be happier. With removal of my stock exhaust plus the mod I feel like I got a pretty darn good deal and it has satisfied my need for a loud(er) exhaust! It sounds exactly like the 38mm with fipk on the YouTube video with the 3 s2k's with different sized uk mods.

Edit: I just got back from dinner with some of my friends with subies and it sounds almost identical to my buddy's sti with a catback (I forget the brand he said it was).

Im running a resonated test pipe right now so it's louder than it would be with the stock cat but I'm pretty happy with the sound level after driving it for a couple of days. If it gets a little louder over time, though, I won't complain haha

I went 1.5" inch as well. I'd like it to be a bit louder, but it does sound very good, how they should have come stock. I added my FIPK a few weeks later, and sounds even better. Very happy with the combo, and pretty cheap. UK mod cost me $120 as well.
