I have an 04 s2k, but anyway i just got a used Invidia n1 exhaust from a guy and today I realized that opening by the cat the pipe before it anyway looks like he re-welded it in, I was just wandering if you guys would know why he did that?

Can you measure the length of the inserted piece? Almost looks like a resonator was welded in, but he kept the same flange that bolts up to the cat. When I originally saw it I thought he had welded in a resonator and the flange to just bolt right up to the header, but that doesn't look like it.

 

wen u say measure do you mean like the inside of the pipe or like the length and width.
