Hi all,

my 00 ap1 which ive just bought has done quite a few kms and i was told its a good idea to change the valve springs/retainers.

what brands are you guys using and how much would i be looking at? the car is stock engine wise, however i do plan on going FI with a supercharger in the future.

did a search but nothing answered my questions as such.

while were on this topic are there any other parts which i should look at replacing given my cars done 140 000kms? (probably about 80 000miles)

Get ap2 retainers. They are designed differently and don't tend to crack as easily.

 

ah is anyone able to recommend a supplier? we have jack all ap2s here in aus. dont mind buying online

 

ah seems theyre quite affordable from honda themselves for the ap2 retainers and cotters?

i know people have said the exhaust side ones dont need replacing, but while im at it would it be a good idea to do it, or would it be superfluous

Take a picture from here (two in the last week) and compare them to the Aus market Ap1. My guess is that they are already the same as the US Ap2.
