Default Valves, Springs, and Retainers

After reading said Brian Crowler stage 2 n/a cam thread and listening to the OP's results he felt, ive decided that I might try it as well, they are cheap as it is anyway, 500$ for cams isnt a big deal in my mind. So that being said, does the head need to come off in order to change the valves, springs and retainers with BC valves, springs and retainers? Also, does anyone know how difficult it would be?

Do everyone a favor and get a baseline dyno and one after the install so we can start building some more objective data on how well these cams work.

heh, good call. Are the valves necessary? I know the springs and retainers do not require the head to be removed. id rather just throw the cams in with the springs and retainers and call it a day.

I don't know why you would change the valves. I f you do change the valves with aftermarket units you need to check to make sure they seat properly. You may need the valve seats machined.

Changing the springs and retainers isn't hard but you need the tools to do it.
