Voodoo titanium shift knob quest?
ok just figured i'd ask
how is the voodoo titanium shift knob heavier then the aluminum???? this doesnt make sense to me lol. isnt titanium a lot lighter metal then aluminum?
the arc titan. shift knob weights almost nothing and so does every other jdm knob i've seen.

Aluminum is a very cheap and light alloy, titanium is also really light, especially for how strong of a metal it is. Solid steel shift knobs... now those would be heaaaaavyyy! I think thats what the Abram shift knob is made out of?
And in shift knob case, I believe heavier is better since it helps with the throw =).

Not really, the extra weight makes your shifts alot crisper. In this case
the extra weight is good. Its one of the best mods i have done

Now we can see Al (aluminum) at number 13, Ti at number 22, and Fe (iron/steel) number 26.
These are in order by (protons technically..but) molecular mass, or the mass of 6.02x10^23 atoms (1 mole as its called). Since your table doesn't give Masses..
1 mole of Al = 26 grams.
1 mole of Ti =47 grams.
1 mole of iron 55.8 grams.
Again this is ignoring density of each of these, crystal structure, and thickness required... but still

Titanium is actually quite a bit heavier than aluminum. It's stronger, so you're able to use less material, which is why many of the "ti" exhausts are lighter.
^ chem101 huh? LOL I'm in that class right now but doin pretty crappy cuz of all the damn conversions we gotta do... Pretty odd cuz all that stuff u just listed is what were doin right now heh
