Default want to put the s2k on a diet

dunno if this is the right place for this...if not please move

anyways like the title says i want to do a weight reduction but dunno really what to take out or change......ideas please!!!! thanks

Get a HardTop and get rid of that soft top


I think its about 20lbs diff

easy weight loss is spare tire 10 lbs, and tool tray 5 lbs. other then you can look into carbon fiber, hood isn't a huge saveing 15 lbs, trunk is good amount at 35 lbs, and fenders are pretty good amount also at 15 lbs each, doors are about 30 each.. pull the ac system, about 20 lbs. different rims, can save a lot depending on rims. and a lighter battery about 20 lbs. eleminate the top all together no hard top, another 50 lbs that is a total of 245 lbs. not really sure how much more you want to go. lol but there is a lot more to be had. if you really wantted.

headers/test pipe will drop quite a bit of weight as well. id say at least 15 lbs.

Just make sure you subtract as much from the back as you do from the front so the handling doesn't go awry.

Don't forget, the resale value is going away with the weight...

Worth $15K now --> Worth $10K or less after weight reduction.
