Hi,anyone know which company made this carbon hardtop?it is kind of light green/yellow.Do you think it is better to paint it body color?

 

Mugen and whats the point of painting it that defeats the purpose of carbon LOL

 

carbon fiber is painted all the time.

 

if your gonna paint it get fiber glass or urethane, Theres no point of paying extra for carbon fiber then painting it.

 

just don't like green/yellow carbon,doesn't match to the hood and spoiler,and it is not mugen (I wish it is),because I paid very good price for it.

 

Looks like Carbon Kevlar? With those colors.

 

Or paint it and leave an area highlighted. They do this in the M3 scene a lot and it looks pretty good. I can picture someone painting the sides of a hard top and leaving the middle exposed for example.

Couple quick examples for inspiration.

 

my seibon hood on the sti i previously owned turned that color. I was told it changed colors b/c it was out in the sun and b/c of the heat from the motor. The clear coat sucked on the hood. It had begun to fade after it turned that color. Then, it began to crack. ugh, i only had the hood for.....2 years?

 

I love the carbon fiber CSL trunk when the lip is left unpainted.

 

That's a carbon kevlar top. To my knowledge Mugen does not make a carbon kevlar top. I know C-Wings makes this finish, I could be wrong as there may be a few more manufacturers out there, my guess is that it's a C-Wings.
