why do skunk2 lowering springs get a bad rep?
why do some people not like skunk2 springs? i want some lowering springs because i just got new enkei rpf1's. ive had eibach on my previous civic and didnt think the drop was enough, i want more than 1"-1.5" drop. any suggestions on springs or why skunk2's are bad?
From what I've read they give a harsh ride and alos lower more than many wheels will work with without rubbing or needing fenders to be rolled etc. I have the Eibach Pro Kit and love the drop and feel.
I just bought some espelir ASDs and am anxious to install them
I have a buddy who has the skunk2 and some work CRs and he messed up his front two fenderr because he needed to roll them first AND he hit something low on the freeway and ripped his lip in half.... His ride wasn't too great either. So... after those things, I just decided to go with the espelirs

espelirs ive heard good things about, where are they available? they give a 1.5" drop all around. i dont like how some of the eibach owners say the rear is higher than the front, i want a nice low even drop
All "lowering springs" - Eibach, Espilir, Skunk2, Tein, whatever - when not accompanied with revalved OEM or spring specific dampers (think the Koni/comptech)- are going to mess up your cars handling...
There is just no two ways about it.
That said, if all you're doing is driving around town --- then you're not using your cars handling anyway ---
So what's the worry? buy some springs (or hell, cut your OEMs) and roll your fenders --- give your car the look you want.
If you want to keep the handling the you bought car with - or maybe even improve on it - lowering springs alone are not the way to go..

^^^ research some coilovers -
Not all of them do anything to improve the handling... (and one or two actually hurt it...) But if they are from a reputable company you're probable OK -
and they will get rid of the gap.
Plus they aren't all ridiculously expensive.
that Koni/Comptech kit is also known to be pretty good too.
Seems to me if you're going to add power (and use it) you don't want to frack up your handling...

i was looking to spend around 200 for the springs not 800 or more for coilovers, and i wont be boosting for a long while! probably not unitl the car is paid off. where are espelir springs available?
