Default wing on stock s2000

I got my s2000 not too long ago and would like to get functional parts for it that would aid me when I go out for autoxing in the near ffuture. Would getting a wing, such as J's racing, look bad if I'm not lowered at all? (My car is ap1 bone stock besides intake n exhaust) thanks!

I think it would look bad but would still be functional. If its just for autox than I think it's ok. If you won't to keep the wing on at all times than yes it will look terrible IMO

if it's functional for the purpose you're installing it for, than f@#k, who cares what the car looks like, as long as it's serving it's purpose and you like how it does during a race. don't get sucked up into the form>fuction bullshit, if you're into performance and tuning, you'll choose function over form any day!

That's what I thought too, but wouldn't it be a pain to take the wing on and off and then I'd have to deal with holes in my trunk when the wing is off?

Thanks! I just don't want to look like "rice" and ruin our cars image.... haha so far my "form" mods have been AP 2 bumper lights and rims so I wouldn't say I'm completely against form, I'd just find spending money on functional mods more justifiable

I was under the impression that, a wing would have as much functionality at an auto x as a bag of sand in the trunk.

I don't know that a wing will help much in an autox. You need alot of speed to be able to utilize the capability a wing represents. For autox, I would look into suspension parts more than aero parts. After suspension, I would look at parts to help with speed including better tires.

You should get a full roll cage to match!

To be honest, the only thing that will make you noticeably faster at an AutoX is experience. I can't speak for you (I do not know your skill level) but my first AutoX I had nearly 10 sec separating my first run and my last, and each one was better, smoother, and quicker than the previous. There is no aftermarket part in the world that will improve your run by 10 sec. You should only start upgrading when you are posting fast and clean times within .5 sec of each other.

I would probably look at wider wheels and stickier tires first as well as a good suspension set up first then if you still find yourself needing more grip in the rear then consider a wing.
