Default 3" single power gain/loss question

Would I loose power with a 3" single on a 2.2? Only mods would be K&N CAI, header (possible PLM) and high flow cat on a 2.2. Might tune later.

There is another post about a 3" on NA but the engine is built. I'm aware it'll most likely be loud, I am looking for a single to put on the car for track days only.

Probably you will make power near redline but lose power down low so they're both kinda right

I think a 70mm would be better for your build, also why hiflow cat for the track why not a testpipe and just use your regular cat on the streets?

Thanks. I figured 70mm would be better, but there's someone selling a 3" for a good price near me, that's why I was wondering.

High flow cat because I live in Cali and I don't even want to take a chance driving to the track with at TP. I think the fine is something like 2-3 grand. That's a set of Hytech cams and valve train, or d-craft's iVTEC system!

I see,

I was thinking you could get a trip permit just to go to the track but then again I know little2nothing about cali and their strict and highly enforced rules

I think it might be a tad overkill for a 2.0L motor but should be more than fine on a 2.2L

No loss of power when I had my custom 3" made. Good gains throughout, with high gains up top. Car felt very good even down low...yes the best gains are seen up top with little to none down low...but you won't lose power.
