Default Berk 3" single or custom exhaust?

Hi guys, I am looking at buying an exhaust and I was going to get the berk 3" single, but recently my friends have been telling me that it's a waste of money and that I should just have a custom 3" headerback exhaust made for around $2-300. What do you guys think? Also I have been looking at the burns stainless muffler and I was wondering if any other s2ki members made an exhaust with a burns muffler?

I'd say get the Berk 3" single, unless your time spent on this endeavor is worth less than the difference of the custom exhaust.

Look at the berk single thread, proven gains across the whole powerband. Does the custom exhaust yield gains? The berk is the best exhaust in the money per power category

Get the Berk! It has r&d behind it and has proven to make power.

custom is the best way to go. you will get the full benefits of a 3" system, for less then half the price possible of any aftermarket system available, and you get to use a canister you want set to any angle you want. Just make sure piping is mandrel bent.

I don't know anyone that will make a custom exhaust for $300. The cheapest custom exhaust that isn't poorly made will still yield power usually starts at around $500, pending if you want it quieter the price tip toes upward. Can you make a custom $300 exhaust? Yes. Will you have gains? Probably. Will you experience a loss in power and or flow? Probably. Why not go with something that's been proven? Which custom exhaust did you have in mind OP?

I was thinking I would go with a burns stainless muffler and 3" inch piping from the header back with out a resonator. I haven't decided if i want it to be a single or a dual yet. I mainly want it to perform well, look decent, and have small tips. My ap1 is also my dd, but I don't mind it being loud. Does anyone have any other suggestions for mufflers?

Also, is it counterproductive to have a 3" dual exhaust?
