Default building the bottom end

taking my block in for a hone while installing an f22 crank and bearings along with 2.2 crower rods... was planning on using the existing pistons (f20 version) if possible... im really trying to avoid purchasing another 700 in parts... is an issue going to arise with clearance if i leave the old pistons in? anyone here swapted the 2.2 parts in an ap1? just trying to get everything in order before the motor goes to the machine shop... please help (ill be slapping on my fully built head post return of block)

Your compression will be bumped to the 11.8:1 range.

umm a stroker build is something you may want a large budget for; are you sure this is something you want to do, right now?

Its not that much of a stroker. He's just putting an AP2 crankshaft in an AP1 block with aftermarket BC rods and OEM AP1 pistons. Clearances will be fine, just using the AP1 pistons will result in increased compression.

oh you can rev to 9 k, plenty of 2.2s do it but shit will wear out faster, from what im told the wrist pins cant hold up to the increased piston speed.

But hey while ur at it you might as well get aftermarket pistons.
