Default Mahle Piston, Pauter Rods, AP1 Block, AP2 Crank

So here is my situation. I just bought a used AP1 block built with Mahle 8.9:1 compression pistons. At home I have a AP2 coated and balanced crank sitting in the garage. As for the head I have a AP1 head that has been ported and polished by Alaniz with all the upgraded valves and springs.

If I get the AP2 Pauter rods, along with the Mahle piston inside the AP1 block, would I be able to safely rev to 9000 redline?

ive seen this talked about on other post. i see alot of people doing it with all the suportting mods to do it. i would recomend to balance the flywheel, crank, rods, and pistions all together at a good machine shop. i have a built ap1 motor and i did all that so i can rev it out for some spot at a few tracks.

Yes main reason why I want to keep the 9k redline is because of the track that i mostly run on needs the higher redline.

And my car sees quite a bit of track time, so reliability is important as well.

Anyone know?

Are the deck heights between the ap1 & ap2 blocks te same ? Is it the same block, just different rods/crank ?

If so, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I think the main issue with the ap2 motor reving to 9 is the problem with piston speed.

I am wondering if using the stronger Pauter rods would solve the issue.

you will be fine with that setup.. the compression will be about 9.5:1 if you use a 2.2 crank.

Pauter rods will take 9k rpms no problem.

the ap1 and ap2 blocks are the same.

No need to spend a bunch of money balancing things "together" 180deg 4 cylinders cant really be balanced anyway.
