Default Contemplating on doing a built k24 swap on my Ap1...Talk me into it / or out of it!

Ok boys and girls, so I'm thinking of doing a k24 swap to my beloved 16,000 original mile ap1. The car has been in the garage and out of commission for at leat the past five years because of a spun bearing due to being low on oil. After that I planned on doing a big turbo build and gathered a bunch of parts for the build,(including sleeving and building my original block and head, and I'd say 90% of all the parts I'd need for the build ). The only things I didn't have yet were a rear end and tranny swap. Then I decided to sell all my new parts(some parts are still for sale in my for sale thread) and just remain all motor. Im already in the process of building another turbo car(240sx) so I really didn't want to have to deal with two turbo projects at once due to other priorities. I do still have the built head from my Ap1 motor that i can use if i was to do an f20/f22 but at the same time I don't mind doing an engine swap instead, but i just don't have the time to do lets say...an Ls1 swap, which is pretty darn great if you ask me, minus all the time consuming fab work(I just don't have the time). This is why I was looking at most likely keeping it in the family and doing a built K24 swap using the Ballade Sports K24 swap kit. I like the benefits of ivtec and the K series motors do respond to bolt ons and tuning better than our F series motors. Also a K motor is way cheaper and easier acquire than our F series. In my specific situation I'm actually going to be purchasing a fresh(less than 100 miles)fully built 13.7.1 k24 motor including a sick, completely built, 4piston pro63 head. The motor made about 320whp on my friends drag civic before he pulled it out and refreshed it. I will be running on E85 and full standalone with the setup. I believe ill be happy with about 300+whp all motor. Im not looking to break any records, its just going to be my occassional street/track toy. I'm estimating the total cost for the build to be in the $14-$15 thousand dollar range without tuning. I'd like people's opinions and ideas on this matter, hence the, "talk me into...or out of it" in the topic title. Thanks to everyone that responds in advance.

If you already have a sleeved f20 why not build that? K24 crank with k1rod and wiseco piston. Slam your head on it ,bam race car.

Lol SSS, the built sleeved block was sold to a member on s2ki a while ago. It was built, not a bare sleeved block.
Thanks for the responses. Keep pushing me in the right direction lol.

We need one of these builds.

I know with the prices of the F-series motors you would save money if the K breaks. Plus there is something about 300hp NA beast!

Do it!

im into around 10k in parts for my LS1 swap, I have to agree, if you delete a/c its the same overall weight as a stock s2000, and way more torque and more hp.... kind of a no brainer, and not a lot of people have it !!!!! I have to agree with Xyster... and if your willing to spend 15k, thats an extra 5 k to put into the motor.... thats easy 450whp and 450 wtq !!!!!!!! reliable allll day long !!!

Im bias though haha

k24 sounds cool but a lot of work and money for okay results .....

good luck !!
