Default FlashPro for 06+

Do I need the actual unit or just someone who has one.

I don't plan on tinkering around with it on a regular basis.

Can't you just flash it and leave it?

Why do I need to buy the dongle?

You need one for your own car.

It would be "possible" for 1 FlashPro to flash more than 1 car, but that would prevent Hondata from making any money. Therefore, they enforce a strict 1:1 relationship between each FlashPro unit and each car. The only way a FlashPro can be used to program a different car would be for the first car to be "Returned to stock" through FlashPro Manager. That would unlock the FlashPro from the first car, so that it can be used to flash the second car.

If you can't afford to pay, then don't play. It sounds harsh, but they invested a lot of money into the r&d to make the product "right". If you want to set your car up right, pay it. If not, enjoy your car with OEM reliabilty which is a great thing too.

My experience with hondata flashes on my old k series, was that OEM reliability is still there.

They make a really solid product.

Post up a WTB for a used one. $100 -$200 cheaper used in some cases. Look through Honda Forums as it's the same unit.

If you have an 06+, just spend the cash. It's the best thing you can do for this car, and if you change stuff down the road, you'll have the capability to have it tuned again. If you're stock, there will be some power to be made here and there, but if you plan on modding down the road, I would wait until you have all your bolt ons on the car and THEN tune it.
