Default intake debate

so ive been debating on changing intake for both aesthetic and performance reasons. i currently have an fipk and i cant say its a bad intake but im looking for something more pleasing to the eye, i considered a pwjdm unit but thats just stupid to pay that much for an intake and ive always liked the mugen intake but never went for it which is why i ended up with the fipk. Ideally i would like to get my hands on a mugen V1 intake but thats like finding a unicorn but the v2 intake or style intake is fine by me. so which would perform/look better AS IS with no enhancers like aut plate or ALEX diverter.

what do you guys think, i need a xmas present

Personally I think it's a joke putting the filter in a box like the OEM set-up(like the Mugen intakes). I'd stick with the FIPK and buy an ebay pipe. Here's my set-up, FIPK heat shield, ebay 3" pipe(soon to be 3.5"), BPI velocity stack, K&N filter, AUT plate

if you want a mugen intake expect to pay top dolla for it,ill just keep the FIPK,i have one as well and its just an intake its not going to give you 30+hp.

To H22toF20 why you got a huge test pipe? and you wanna run a 3.5?you turbo or something?I dont see the need of a 3 1/2 test pipe just to bottle neck to a 3 inch exhaust coming from a 2 1/2 colector if you are runing a header?

keep your fipk man just save your money for a different part that you dont have !
in my opinion fipk is best bang for your buck intake for s2000 and unless you got bills to invest in NA build id stick to it

Anyone know anything about the Level 7 Intake? How does it compare to the comptech icebox?

I was refuring to the intake pipe, not my exhaust. I don't think a 3.5" exhaust would be worth it, for the increase in weight. I'd still like to see a test though for shits and giggles. I also want to see how a 3" collector on my Berk would do paired with my 3" exhaust.

found some interesting info from king motorsports

"Hondata recently ran back-to-back dyno runs on a 2007 AP2 S2000 with a Hondata FlashPro. The first run is the car tuned with all OEM engine components except a and Mugen Exhaust with an OEM cat. For the second pull the only change was swapping out the OEM intake for the Mugen Intake and re-optimizing the tune.

This simple change garnered 16+ WHP gain - an incredible gain for the cost of an intake!

Because of these results, Hondata will now include the "Mugen Header, Exhaust and Intake" tune with any purchase of a FlashPro for S2000."

and dyno plots, dont know how true this all is
