Default ITBs & Hondata

I'm seriously thinking about switching over to ITBs (at which point I would pick up a beater for a daily driver) in the next year, and I want to have everything else in place beforehand. I realize you can use AEM or Motec, so please no posts that just say "AEM FTW".

My thought process on this is that the Hondata K-pro goes off of modified OEM maps, so I'm wonering if this would make tuning with the K-pro harder or easier compared to an AEM? Do you have to go through and re-program all of the settings anyway, or would there be advantages to using it over an AEM?

Thanks!

In terms of how hard Hondata is to tune, I have heard it is a little more time consuming because you can't edit the cells in real time. Some people like the Hondata software more though saying it is easier to understand.

The Hondata software is pretty easy to use. I have messed with AEM software a little bit and found it less intuitive than the Hondata software. Either way, a wideband will be needed if you are tuning yourself.

Finding a tuner that can make it work is the real challenge.

I live in JAX, so we have Mase ... not worried about finding a tuner. Just trying to minimize the part-throttle tuning time.

Adams AUtomotive in Crestview FL is the closest and best hondata tuner in Florida. He's the longest running Hondata dealer in Florida, and really knows his stuff. Not many people people know about him because he's selective on who and what he works on i.e. no rice... pm if you need his contact info...

Regardless of what system you go with, ITBs will always require constant tuning to operate 100%. As an AEM EMS owner who has had both TWM and Hayward ITBs I would hands down reccomend you go with a Hondata setup. That said, my AEM and harness with a tuned EMS (good base map for an ITB car as I have 20+ hours of tuning in it) for ITB 550cc injectors is for sale.
