Default ITB's Question

Hey guys i just had a question concerning ITB's. i live in Houston,TX where the weather changes about every 15 min. not quite that drastic but almost. i have asked some of the people around here about ITB's but most seem to think that it would be impossible because i would have to take the car to get re-tuned all the time. But this doesnt make since to me because if that was true then wouldnt it be the same for a FI car? i mean even a standalone is going to adjust for temp/humidity right? let me know your thoughts

Yah i knew that i would need a tune. planning on going with the Haltech 1000. just some of the houston people were saying it would be unreliable even with a tune but that sounded like a myth to me.

I would avoid their tuner, if there are known issues with his tunes. I have not used a Haltech myself, I can say the software is pretty robust looking.
He wasn't saying that the tuner was horrible, but rather that what he "hear's" is that the tune no matter what would be insufficient. It's just what ignorant people hear from someone, that heard from someone, that heard from someone and so on. Just like the "backpressure" myth. If people leaned to challenge everything they hear or at least talk with someone knowledgeable in the subject, this world would be a lot more intelligent as a whole.
