Default JDM F20 Pistons with 91 octane

I am in the process of replacing my stock AP1 motor with a Japanese AP1 motor. I live in Ca so 91 is my only "practical" choice of petro. I will be using the factory untouched AP1 ecu with the engine. Should I be worried about the higher compression ratio with a stock ecu and stock head gasket?

what is the point of more compression if you are running 91 octane?
