Default K24 in S2000

Has anyone done this? I know D-craft has just released an Ivtec kit but I was wondering if anyone has done the entire swap.

I think it would make a lot of sense since the aftermarket for the K series is so huge its a lot cheaper to build big N/A power people are very easily obtaining 300hp and 220 tq on simple K build with just bores on a stock block.

I figure I could sell the F20c and my s2000 Kpro and cover most of the cost of the parts for the swap and would do the labor myself.

Wondering if it has been done just comparing my dyno charts to my friends stock block k24 vtec killer the amount of torque at 5000 is much higher than our peak numbers. and that is all with OEM parts. An N/A s2000 with that much low end torque would be killer

You're talking FWD vs RWD, longitudinal placement versus horizontal. Can it be done? Anything can be done with enough money. The easiest way is to use the K24 crankshaft in the S2000 block with H22 rods & pistons. This has been done numerous times.

I think he could mount the K the same as the F. No reason to mount the engine sideways.

Honestly, Honda built the S2000 so well I don't understand why you/anyone would want to "modify" their car. The engine/chassis/suspension is all meant to work with each other.

Most things like exhaust, coilovers and definitely sway bars ruin the machine. Now you're considering swapping an engine that wasn't even meant for the car...

I would only do headlight/tail light/sound system mods (aesthetic stuff) because it doesn't affect the car's performance.
