Default Result j's parts on my S2000

Hello NA friends,

recently i dynoed my S2000 and i’ve got a few questions about the result.

As first my setup for now is :
- J's Tsuchinoko intake
- J’s exaust manifold (heat wrapped by j’s)
- J’s testpipe
- J’s 70RS single exhaust
- J’s engine toque demper

The dyno run was made on a dastek dyno and the results where:
- Max. power wheels: 215.7bhp @8657rpm
- Max. power engine: 251.1bhp @8950rpm
- Max. torque 208.5Nm @7907rpm

My question: is the result as it should be? What can I do to get that little extra?

Thanks for helping me out.

You need a 70mm test pipe. I don't think the J's is 70mm.

You need a matching diameter TP and a tune. You won't get much benefit from bolt ons with the stock tune.

You need a baseline dyno. Do you have one? For all we know, you might have spectacular gains, or no gains, but I would suspect without a tune, you've gained 10-15hp and running extremely lean.

The ecu is stil stock and i dont have a baseline dyno. When we did the dyno they said the A/F was good and they could not do much more about it (with a uni chip tune).
I'm living in Belgium (europe) and overhere it is hard to find a good tuner.
would a 70mm trotlebody and a 70mm test pipe make any difference?

You need a tune to truly extract the value of your modifications... I'm not sure what year your car is but go either K-PRO or AME EMS...

I don't think having a bigger test pipe will make a difference as I'm assuming the J's header collector is probably 63mm as well.

The only thing you could do to improve your situation without a tine is to start putting the stock parts back on.

... A tuning solution really needs to be the first mod...
