Default Spoon F20C Engine Assembly

http://www.gotuning.com/product_info.php?f...products_id=262

Does anyone have any information concerning:

-what is required to put this in an AP1?

-how many Hp/Ft-Lbs does this motor make?

-is this motor usable in a DD stiuation?

Thanks for the input!

If I'm not mistaken, the Spoon motors are just stock motors that are balanced and put together with tighter tolerances to last endurance racing. could be wrong though....

Right, except its ported and polished also...

Basically I'm buying an s2000 in the next 5 to 7 months on a budget of 17-19k. I've had my heart set on the AP2 but i was curious to know if that set-up I proposed in an AP1 would be worth doing, because it would possibly make more power and would still be in my budget.

Again thanks for the input

Still would like to see specs if anyone finds them.

Given your budget, just find an 06+ and flash it. AP2s are all around better cars. IMO the Spoon engine is not worth it, especially given the unavoidable wait time and added install costs.

Well that sounds most reasonable thanks for the input. The AP2 sounds like the right way to go. I should have known better than to think there was a power loop-hole for this car.

It sounds like i should just accept the fact that any way you cut it, power mods cost money and ill have to step up my budget before any serious power mods are considered.

out of curiosity why an 06+? i suspect that i can find an 04 with under 35k miles for a cheaper cost because, of the year difference. Am i wrong to make this assumption?

06 and up you can use flashpro alot better year for tuneing.but it dosent realy mader ap1 or ap2 either one can make power.all depends on what you want ,if you get a ap1 get above 01 so you have the glass window.i have a ap1 and i smash on ap2's all day.its all on what mods you do .Look around before you just go and buy parts its not always about the name or the price its how it works and if it realy makes power.Just talk to pepole.
what do you want a car to go track or a dd
what options do you want.traction control

I want a DD that i can track once or twice a month. Something, in between really. Traction control doesn't matter to me. I don't really have an Hp goal but id like the car to feel like it has 250 Hp is that makes sense.

Parts I'm considering (i will purchase in this order):
-suspension ( open to recommendation; considering tein ss)
-wheels and tires (spoon CR92's, research needed on tires)
-amuse R1 header
-j's titanium FX70RR exhaust
-password JDM intake
-clutch and flywheel kit (open to suggestions)
-spoon big break kit
-ems (open to suggestions)

This is what i have in mind for the AP2. I haven't looked into AP1 set ups at all but, would consider owning one if the price is right!

Thanks for the interest. I feel like I will make the right decision with all the great feed back and threads this forum offers. I've considered several other cars in the last year and have made up my mind that i want an S2000 now i need to figure out if the AP! or AP2 is the best for my money.

THERE IS DIFERNT SETUPS,AND YOU CAN BASICLY BUILD YOUR OWN SPOON MOTOR OR YOUR OWN SET UP.
SPOON MOTORS GO ALL THE WAY UP TO 13:1COMPRESSION(DONT QUOTE ME)
AND ALSO A SPOON MOTOR IS OEM PARTS

AND THOSE ARE SOME SERIOUS PARTS AND A BIG BUDGET.
JUST SOME ADVICE NEVER HEARD ANY GOOD NUMBERS FROM THE PASSWORD JDM INTAKE LOOK INTO AEM OR K&N,I PERSONALY LIKE THE SPOON SNORKEL WITH FILTER.
