TCT life longevity
after reading a post about bc2 cams the mentioned the tct failure being a concern. whats the service interval on the tct and chain? i have 45k on mine (2008) with almost 10k on my bc2's. i've heard of them causing noises from too much slack when they go but im guessing they could also cause the motor to grenade as well. never thought about changing to chain but maybe getting a new tct would be some cheap insurance. thanks for any input

My friend's suzuka AP1 had 68k before her TCT gave out and did some minor damage to her motor. Mine started ticking at ~95k. I'm guessing it varies between car, driving habit, the oil that you use and engine modificatin. So it's hard to pin point the exact mileage or even a range. However, do not fret cuz there is a solution. Ballade Sports has an upgraded TCT with beefier springs and internal components (beefed up) for a cheap price with core exchange. Many ppl including myself have replaced using Ballade Sports TCT and have been a happy camper. No more ticking and a peace of mind (i track my car btw so 9K all day long).
btw, i'm planning to but BC stage 2 in my car when it's available this april. How much hp did you make? what engine are you running? any other mods?
Hit up Alex at Ballade Sports, tell him kaotik25 referred you. I think he ships the item too. Good luck my friend and replace TCT for a small cost now and save yourself from thousands later.

I took this picture from Alex's thread. If you want me to take this down plz let me know Alex.
As you can see the parts are beefier and heavy duty springs. I think he told me some of his clients have ran BC stage 2 with his TCT for awhile without any issues or ticking.

My TCT started to act up over the weekend from a spirited canyon cruise up to a ski resort. I left my car in 2nd or 3rd the whole way down to not overheat my brakes....... That F'd mine up. I am running BC stg 2 cams also.

wonder what the differences are between inline and ballades TCT. and to answer kaotik's question, i never dynoed my car just street tuned it myself. engine mode are injectors, custom intake manifold, header, 3" tp, 3" hks single, CAI. what i can say is it made a difference over ap2 cams
