Default VHT Flameproof Primer on test pipe

Hey guys! not sure if this is in the right forum or not so I apologize if this is in the wrong spot. I was wondering if spraying my new test pipe with VHT Flameproof primer (temps from 1300-2000 F) would help with corrosion and possibly heat absorption. I know the best thing for me to do would be to add a heat shield to the TP but I was just curious since I had 3/4 of a can of VHT laying around. This would be just the primer but I do have the brake caliper paint from VHT (temps up to 900 F) laying around so I may spray some on too. Any ideas if it I'll do anything? Thanks in advance!

Yes it'll hold and it will help with corrosion, other than that there is really no benefit worth mentioning.

It won't hurt, but it won't help either.

With what? Heat dissipation or corrosion? Or both? Lol

Decided to take the plunge and spray the test pipe in vht. I took some 80 grit and 320 grit sand paper to it and sprayed some simple green to remove any contaminates. After it dried I applied the vht and now I'm waiting for it to finish curing in the oven.

You wouldn't even notice the heat in the cabin without that. Pretty pointless imho.

Update:
I decided to wrap the test pipe in DEI heat wrap. Not sure if it will help much but I'll report later (with pictures hopefully) on my experience after I finally get around to installing the tp on my car

What are you actually trying to accomplish by wrapping the test pipe only?
