What is needed for 2.4 stroker engine?
I saw somewhere someone selling a crank for the S2000 stating it was for a 2.4 stroker engine with stock bore. I was wondering what is needed to do a good reliable 2.4 stroker engine? Is a huge pile of cash and time needed for that? If so it's not for me but going through my options now as I want some more power and torque and thinking between stroker or turbo/sc kits.

The crank he is talking about is a 99mm Castillo crank someone is selling in the classifieds. The cost to build it would be the same as any built engine but with the additional cost of the crank. You will need new bearings, rods, and new pistons unless you source aftermarket rods with the OEM wrist pin size. This plus the cost of labor to assemble the engine unless you have that talent.

Yeah that is the crank I saw. How reliable is a 2.4 stroker assuming a good tune? Would it be less reliable than stock 2.0L? Do you know which pistons, rods etc I would need to get for a 2.4 build?

Ok cool. Thanks. Seems like this might be a less expensive route than going with a turbo or something. Won't get as much power but will have a rebuilt engine plus lots more torque and power and still be NA.

Hmm everyone talks about it being like $10,000 for a full tubo set up. I don't see how it could possibly cost near that to get an engine rebuild and stroking it at the same time... Sure I would need ems and fuel injectors and pump so figure another 1500 at the most for fuel there and then maybe $500 for tuning or so.
