Default 04 wheels on 00

Is it legal in autocrossing to use 04 17" wheels on a 00 that came with 16" wheels?
Thanks
I'm thinking about buying an s 2000 to autocross. I've found one pretty cheap but the owner has replaced the wheels can I use them or do I need to buy some original wheels. Also since I plan to autocross it would I be better off spending a bit more and getting a newer one?
Thnanks Tony F

NO! Not if you want to stay in AS. Other classes (BSP?) would allow this, but you won't be near as competitive if this is your only mod.

Use the 17" rims for the street...there are a wider range of excellent 17" tires available compared to 16" tires.

Pick up a set of oem 16" wheels for r-compound tires for autox. 16" wheels can be had for $200-300 easily.
