Default New Tires for 04 OEM wheels

I have just purchased 04 wheels for my MY00 S2000....I was running with Kumho Supra's 225/245 on the old 16" wheels but was wondering how wide I might be able to go with the new OEM 17" wheels. I suspect that a 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 set up would work well (I could be talked into the MX's as well)...I would appreciate anyone's advice on this matter (Jim??).

Contact Mike2k. I've seen his car with the '04 rims both sitting still and rolling. They look great. I know he's running 255's on the rear but I don't remember the aspect ratio or the exact size he has on the fronts.

Thanks Dave, I have PM'd him already. You had mentioned before that he put 225's on the front.

Ah, there you go. Now all you need to know is what the correct aspect ratio is so it doesn't affect your speedo. With the original OEM 16" tires, they were 55 front and 50 rear. With Mike's, I "believe" he has 45 front and 40 rear but you can always compare tire diameters with some of the tire manufacturer websites to see. First, go to Bridgestone to see what it is for the OEM tires, then go to the company of the tire you plan to get and see what size tire gives you the same diameter in the width you want.

I have 225/45r17 and 255/40r17 kumho ecsta MXs on my stock wheels, they work fine.
