I thought the GTC200 / 1S wing will be 1.5 points? It is 1.25 now?

Changing this would allow street class to run:
17x9 - 0.5
255/255 - 0.75
Lvl2 Wing - 1.25
Coilovers - 1.5

Total = 4

This may close up the gap between street class and mod quite a bit, is this what we want?
That's got to be a mistake!

Doug I expect a sub 2 at BW13 from you.

The gap between Street Class and Modified Class has indeed gotten closer. Even in terms of points, the 3.5-point difference between the two classes last year has been reduced to a 2.5-point difference. Compared to last year, we expect Street Class to be faster, and Modified Class to stay about the same.

The ultimate goal is that Street Class will remain an "open" class, in that people can use their creativity and build a car to fit their style. Modified Class will become the "Spec" class, where things are very tightly regulated. Even though they may have similar performances, they will serve different purposes next year.

These are the rules that the S2KC Committee agreed to. If there are any glaring flaws, we will try to fix them immediately.

Yeah, that makes sense. Honestly, we were only a quarter point away from being able to run that setup last year. But I think the rules are fine. I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. I have no problem having to mod my car to meet what I perceive as the best setup for me. The competition is the fun.

I thought the GTC200 / 1S wing will be 1.5 points? It is 1.25 now? IMO the wing would still be undervalued by a bit

Also changing this would allow street class to run:
17x9 - 0.5
255/255 - 0.75
Lvl2 Wing - 1.25
Coilovers - 1.5

It allows competitors to use 4 pretty significant mods in terms of laptimes, leaving the difference between street and mod mainly with Rcomps, lvl3 aero and power mods. Are these 3 enough to seperate the classes far enough?
It also leaves you with no room for key weight saving and power mods

Is a VAFC and a flashpro equivalent, performance-wise? Both only get docked 0.25?

Here are my thought for my setup.

Inital setup

.125 Hardtop
1.25 Level 2 Wing
.75 255 Front Tire
.50 9" Wheels F/R
.25 Test Pipe
.125 Cat Back
1.50 Coilovers
1.75 R-Comps (Untill they run out)

6.25 total points.

Later on this year

.125 Hardtop
1.25 Level 2 Wing
.75 255 Front Tire
.50 9" Wheels F/R
.25 Test Pipe
.125 Cat Back
1.50 Coilovers
.50 Level 2 front aero
.125 Gurney Flap
0.00 RS3's (cheaper and I want to be able to drive through puddles)

5.125 total points.

I do think for me the R-comp setup will be faster. But the idea of further modding my car will pull me off of them.

Yup. So is a Motec, if you go that route.
