Just checked - now 38. LOL

I'm just going for fun - not competing. I'll be on Direzza ZII's built in 2012. Yes, sounds dangerous... hahaha. A win for me will be not spinning out...

Write Up 2016 Maxxis S2K Challenge!

Round 8 is in the books. Despite a warm October day we, once again, had a few personal bests set.

16 S2000's signed up to compete in the Challenge. However there were 20 more that were on site. Not sure if the exposure of the series is lacking or there are actually people who drive fast that don't like competition. Remember, if you sign up for the challenge you will get a credit for timing at your next event. Plus if you are on Maxxis Tires you will receive a free tire for running 4 events and a second tire at 6 events!! Sign up people!!! The Action was still fast and fun!

Here is how the competition shook down...

Street Class had 4 familiar faces. Fernando Muga set a 2:09.739 in Red 3 for 4th place! Third was Richard Huang in a borrowed street class car. Richards yellow TT3 car was running the 25CCW config in preparation for nationals. However in his borrowed car he set a 2:09.278 on one of his two timed laps. Second was Tom Wang with an impressive 2:06.168. Rohan Kota took the top spot with a 2:05.423 to take home the win! Congrats to all the street class drivers!

Super Mod had only two competitors. Justin Taylor set a 2:00.895 in a trouble filled Red 2. Dustin Dessero missed session 2 with a mechanical gremlin. Session 3 at the end of his first hot lap a red flag flew halting all of the action. Luckily no-one was seriously injured in the red flag. However thinking session 3 was scrapped may competitors grabbed lunch. To our surprise they called us back to grid for a 5 minute run. Sprinting to his car Dustin managed to get two hot laps before the checkered flag flew. His 1:57.583 was enough for the win. Congrats Super Mod!!

Mod Class is where all the action was. We had 10 competitors battling it out for the podium.

10th place was Jason Wong with a 2:16.940! 9th was George Cimino with a 2:14.688. 8th is were the field started bunching up. Sung Shin took 8th with a 2:04.311. Taking 7th by less than a tenth was Patrick Ho, 2:04.231. 6th place was Adrian Torres with a 2:03.610. 5th was David Leung with a 2:02.957. 4th was Ryan Delgrosso with a 2:01.684. 3th was Ted (I only run 1 session) Park. Ted's 2:00.754 was set in Red 2, where he noticed a new vibration that cut his day short. 2nd with a new personal best and the newest member of the Sub 2 Kru was Jason Woan. Jason set a 1:59.884!!! Congrats Jason!!! While top honors went to Jeff (I am the Ringer) Ringer. Jeff showed up in his old RS3 5.125 point car and dropped the hammer with a 1:57.994, also a new personal best!! What makes this more impressive is Jeff was pulled out early a few sessions to hop into the tow rig and rescue cars that were stuck on track! Thanks Ringer and great job Mod Class!

We have a few weeks off till round 9 which will be back at Chuckwalla raceway on November 19th! This will be a great time to visit Chuckwalla with great weather and an awesome track! Also remember our sponsors for your tire and brake needs. Maxxis Tires and 949 Racing wheels go hand in hand!

Till then remember, who needs brakes? They just slow you down!
