3mm spacer safe with stock studs ?
I know that the Stoptech ST40 rotor hat is like the equivalent of adding a 2-3mm spacer. I know for sure since I rolled fenders prior to getting the bbk and had no issues rubbing, and after the BBK definitely had rubbing issues in areas where it wasn't a problem before. Adding a 3mm spacer on top of that would be like effectively adding a 5-6mm spacer to the OEM config.
Yes, but I'd also verify to make sure that the aftermarket rotor hat didn't also add some additional effective thickness.

Note that if you do need to make a change and don't want to upgrade the studs (which is a big job on the S2000 because you need to pull the hubs, which means replacing the bearings...) you can buy a few mm by using extended thread lug nuts, like these for example:
They basically reach into the lug nut hole to grab more threads. However, the TSW wheels have fairly small holes; I needed to bore mine out very slightly for ET lug nuts to fit. Was still much cheaper than replacing the studs though, although eventually I did that anyway.

I can't remember what spacer size I'm running, it's either 2 or 3mm. I'm running a stoptech kit on stock studs and haven't had an issue. Not saying it's safe (more threads is better) but I think I've done ~8 track days or so with 255 rs4's with this setup.
