Thanks again guys; this is all very helpful. I'm going out again in late September, weather willing, and I'll try this out (this is a dangerously addictive activity!). I'm pretty cautious, but on Monday I was getting comfortable, and holdiing the line on track right going around turn one and into the braking zone at turn two at 120 and just above.

Mike and Ted, I think that 5th gear redlines at a much lower speed in an '04 than in the earlier years; it looks to me like you guys can go wll into the 130s in fifth, while I lose it at about 125. That certainly is an advantage of the earlier models in this particular turn, especially since I suspect that I lose VTEC when shifting into 6th at about 118.

OK, I didn't know where 5th redlined on the '04. If you are hitting the rev limiter at 125, I would definitely shift up to 6th before turnin at T1. As the others have said, a higher gear provides a little more smoothness anyway. And the consequences of bouncing off the rev limiter when you are already unloaded going over the crest of T1 would be severe.

That redline beeper from modifried was an excellent investment for the track. I can't imagine going back to not having one.
