Default About saner bar

Installed my saner bar for last weekend Thill event, without touching anything else, car is getting really understeer now, I am talking about a lot. As many of you guys upgrade front bar only, what you guys do afterward? Any alignment adjustment?

I am running -2.5 camber front, 1/16 toe out, 6 deg caster, and -2 rear and 0 toe(or maybe 1mm toe in), with crap buddy club coilover, with 245 non staggered A032R.

Should I go back to stock(01)? Adjustment would help? Or stiffer coilover setup, rear bar upgrade?

Is the saner adjustable? Is it on the softest setting?
Are your dampers adjustable? Maybe you could increase the damping in the rear.
Some guys remove/disconnect the rear bar. Maybe you could try that.

What setting do you have the Saner bar set on?
Are you sure you have 2.5 degrees of camber in the front? I can't get anywhere near that much camber and still have 6 degrees of caster.
What tire pressures you running?

Naturally, but running a stiffer front bar, you will get more push (understeer). You can try adjustint the shocks, increase the rebound on the rears or less rebound in the front. Put on a bigger rear bar?
Run a softer setting on the front bar. Drive differently.

Really, what you want to do has to be decided by how you want the car to handle. We need more info before we know for sure.

It's on softest now, I think my caster is between 5.5-6 I forgot the exactly number, I have SPC camber joint on front btw. Tire pressure was set 33 front and 32 rear when cold, around 35-36 after a 20 mins session. And yes the car is more like push under, turn in is acceptable.

Damping is adjustable, and I maxed out all 4 corners for R tires. I will have my new coilovers put in this week or weekend, hopefully they'll run better.

Seriously guys. Same width gives you understeer. Soft front bar makes it worse.

But when I have my stock bar, the car felt more natural?! Although on different track though.

Non-staggered tires means he has more grip up front (relative to the stock, staggered setup). How does more grip in front equate to understeer?

Also... soft front bar = understeer? Since when? Regardless, he didn't say he has a soft front bar... he said he has an upgraded bar, but it's on its softest setting. I don't know if its softest setting is softer or stiffer than stock, though.

[QUOTE=mxt_77,Aug 27 2008, 12:21 PM] I got this bass-ackwards... you would need more bar in the rear for your issue.

Seems like something else must be going on, though, since you're already running a non-staggered tire setup.

My bad, yes, wider front will give more oversteer all things being equal. But I think that most people still find the car to understeer or understeer-neutral with wider fronts (AP2). Relative increase in oversteer does not mean net oversteer.

The softer front bar will give more understeer, as stiffening reduces net traction, leading to understeer. A saner bar, which is considerably stiffer than stock should lead to more understeer.

Some of this is likely due to driving style, esp. at T-hill. Which corners were worst?
