Hi all
Im new to the group, I’m building a s2000 to race in 750mc this year and it’s has the abs removed, now I really would like to refit this to the car. It has a aem s2 ecu on it. Now all the wiring is still on the car for the abs, now I’ve heard the abs is not the greatest for on the track that’s why there removed , does anyone have any advice on this and which way to go. I would definitely run ABS. Nothing like flatspotting your tires going into turn 1 lap 1, or worst case, causing an accident. Without more info though, not sure what you need to buy. You just need sensors?

totally agree but I believe that the S2K abs system is set to diagonal which will be no good in racing , getting mixed messages on line. Not sure what to do

if you're looking for the motorsport grade bosch abs, it is not that. however the abs system is pretty decent and not too intrusive.
i do find if you're into the abs your brake zones are like 3ish or so car lengths longer than a good threshold brake.
if you intend to rely on the abs for ultimate braking, i'd imagine you're gonna need the motorsports grade bosch abs and have to retrofit it.
but if its just a help me not lock up and flatspot tires, it does the job very well.

To my knowledge the early cars (AP1) are a 3-channel ABS. Two (one each) for the individual front wheels and one for both rear wheels. Late cars (AP2) are 4-channel-- each wheel is independent None are "diagonal" as in a typical 2-channel system,

Without knowing what year s2000 you have, my general recommendation would be to use the entire system from an AP2v1 s2000 (04-05). It has more channels than an AP1, and none of the programming complications of the DBW cars (AP2v2-‘06 and newer). Those systems just need power and run independently of the ECU.
You said all the wiring is still in the car, and I’m not sure if you are talking about the wheel sensors also. Just beware that not all AP2 wheel speed sensors are the same, but some are. Either the front or back (can’t remember which) are the same on AP2v1 and V2 cars. But one end is different.
Just guessing here, you have an AP2V2 car, with a non OEM ECU. It would be virtually impossible to get the ABS to work in that scenario (probably why it’s deleted) using the ‘06 and newer ABS. Those systems have the ABS and traction control send signals back through the OEM dash, which the AEM will not run. Much more electronically complicated.
Short story, use all the brake system (master cylinder, ABS unit, sensors) from an 04-05, and it should work

Or put the original 2006+ ECU back in the car and use Hondata FlashPro for tuning?
