aCab's 2012 Attempt at a NASA TTC National Champsionship
This has really made me realize how much I need to work on my mental training more than ever.

Things were going well until I started watching the lap timer a little too closely.

Final session at 2012 NASA National Championships. On board with Time Trials Class C (TTC) Driver - Austin Cabot in the Deft Motion Honda S2000.
Greed played a factor in the incident on the 3rd lap of this video. Remember - always keep a cool head and focus on the task at hand.
Lap 1: 1:37.2xx (Notice the smoke screen in the mirror coming out of the car on at the beginning of the video)
Lap 2: 1:36.93 with missed shift on back straight 4-5
Lap 3: DNF - No missed shift - was .5 seconds ahead of Lap 2. Had lap been completed, it had the potential of a 1:36.4xx - enough to be the 2012 NASA TTC National Champsionship Lap and new Course Record.
Per NASA rules, 4 off in a session DQs times for the entire session, thus the frustration at the end of the video.
Congratulations to the 2012 NASA National TTC Podium Finishers:
1st - Emilio Cervantes of 949 Racing - 1:36.6xx (Had a 1:36.4xx in PTC race).
2nd - Dan Walters - 1:36.91
3rd - Chi Ho of Dynasty - 1:36.92
(Of note - All s2000 times that counted were withint .03 of each other! WOW)

I think if we'd had 2 more sessions with the track like that we'd all have run mid 1.36's but if emilio had been out he mighta run a 35!
I was pushing like hell though right at the end and the tires were well past their best and I made a few mistakes to, at least you didn't hit a wall like I did in 2011!
Watching your videos I need to work on my braking for sure. I was realy having trouble with wheelspin/wheellift realy had to stay off some of the kerbs I think I could have picked up time with an OS Giken - would need a lot more prep to realy run that miata though.

you know TT makes me way too stressed out having to fight traffic and get up early and go fast right away when the tracks cold etc etc
get a spec E30 and we'll see whatsup on the track where we can bump and run without all that TT shit!!
