Default Accusump Valve Pressure Choice?

I got the electric valve for the Accusump with a discharge of 35-40 PSI. I do not know exactly the oil pressures my S2000 produces. I am wondering if I should have gotten the lowest discharge setting of 20-25 PSI. What have you sumpers out there been using?

Thanks.

On the same subject... (no hijack intended )

Richard and I are wondering if an Accusump alone is sufficient protection for Dave's car at Cal Speedway? Several folks have suggested we add a baffled oil pan as well, but we're having trouble finding one. (new or used)

Any advice on this would also be appreciated as well as the valve pressure question. I was planning on getting the 20-25psi, but maybe that's the wrong one?

It would be safer on RA-1s.

I suppose if I am concerned about low oil pressure during idle, and a bunch of oil being dumped as a result, I could flip the switch after getting on the track, where revs would tend to remain high.

I'm ordering the unit tomorrow, so I'd really appreciate opinions of the valve pressure... anyone know what "normal" oil pressure is for an S2k? It seems like 70-90 psi is "normal" for a warm motor under load, but that it can drop to 25psi at idle. Would a 35psi valve therefore cause "dumping" at idle? The Accusump site says when in doubt, get the 20-25psi valve. I guess I could go with Al's suggestion of turning it off at idle, but a more informed opinion would be nice.

Based on DavePK's suggestion, I ended up ordering the 55-60 PSI valve. He felt that the benefit of maintaining the higher level of pressure was more important than the possibility of dumping at idle.

Additionally, as Al said, we can just switch it off until we get out on the track. Once running, there will be little idling.

Got the Accusump installed and checked the pressure with 10w30 Redline at cold first start higher idle. The pressure is around 65-70 or so. I expect the pressure to drop with hotter oil and lower rpm. So far, I like!

I have the 3qt 'sump, and put 2 extra quarts into the engine to get the level just at the add line, as per instructions.

Hey Al, did you go with the regular 3 Qt or the high pressure 3 Qt unit?

Probably the regular, as I have not heard of a high pressure version.

The 'sump I have has a fitting where one can adjust the air pressure pushing against the piston before fill. Should go to 50 psi then bleed down to 7 psi prior to oil charging.
