very nice install. I prefer them sideways. Seem to fit the hood curve better.

Usually the point is saving weight off from the car.

Dunno if the OP has actually cut the OEM lock off of the hood but this is a great writeup anyways. And i have to agree, those dremel cuts indeed look perfect sir!!

The other reason teams will do it is so that the crew can unlatch the hood without involving the driver.

I hate to bump such an old thread... but...

I bought these to install on my new vented hood and I can't use the "free" holes on the radiator support because my vent openings go down that far.

I found this thread looking through pics on google and was wondering if anyone knows if those 90* brackets were made or can be bought?

They would locate the pins in the perfect spot for my hood.
