Default Aero failure on Cyber EVO this weekend.

Got this from Nasioc.com

Cyber EVO had a misfortune of rear wing detach from the car and took a big portion of CFRP trunk skin with it at World Super Lap this weekend, but it was fast enough to secured 1st place win at this event with new track record of 1:30.587 !

Guys with carbon trunk (CFRP) really need to find a different way to mount their wing on these weak, none enforced trunks, or just use OEM trunk, just a safe precaution on the track.

Glad the car is still in one piece. These incidents are probably scaring a lot of people.

Element STI also had some partial trunk skin missing from where the wing stand mounts.

My old Cf trunk developed small stress cracks near the edge after few years with a wing.

The base and the stands were still once piece after the FRP trunk peeled off.

it probably landed on the side of the wing, broke off one of the wing plate for sure on that picture.

The correct title of this thread should be trunk failure. The wing, base stands, and mounts are still intact.

If the wing is working and all of these are more than big enough, they put a huge load into the trunk. I would never run a frp/k trunk with a 300 or greater wing. You can't spread the loads out enough. There is enough deflection in the CR with that little low thing that the factory puts a whole bunch of stiffeners and bumpers on it.
